Stellenausschreibung Nr. IMT 04-2024

IMT 04-2023 Design and Optimization of Ku-band microresonator for portable EPR spectroscopy

Tätigkeitsbeschreibung

Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR), also known as Electron Spin Resonance (ESR), is a powerful spectroscopic technique used in various scientific fields. EPR enables the study of unpaired electrons' behavior in molecules and materials, providing valuable insights into their structure and properties. This non-destructive technique is essential in fields like chemistry, biology, and physics. In IMT, we aspire to revolutionize the MR (magnetic resonance) landscape by developing cutting-edge technology that enhances sensitivity, resolution, and applicability, paving the way for new discoveries in fields ranging from materials science to biomedical research.

This project aims to discover the possibility of a portable EPR spectroscopy device, the main task of the project is to design a Ku-band microresonator as an EPR detctor using PCB fabrication or LIGA fabrication technolgy.

Your tasks includes:

  • Model, design and optimize an EPR detector (based on COMSOL, CST, or HFSS)
  • Participate in rapid prototyping (PCB fabrication/ Laser fabriation/ LIGA fabrication)
  • Characterization of microresonator
  • Assemble and perform EPR spectroscopy

Your work will leverage the state-of-the-art infrastructure available at the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT), including microfabrication facilities and advanced characterization equipment and laser milling equipment. This project presents a unique opportunity to design, produce, and evaluate devices, potentially leading to co-authorship in conference presentations and journal publications.

Persönliche Qualifikation
