Chemist (f/m/d)

PostDoc

Job description

We offer you the opportunity to act as an integral part of an interdisciplinary research group focussing on the development of innovative chemosensors and assays. These will be used for future applications in diagnostic assays, imaging and wearable sensors. As part of the prestigious ERC Consolidator project “SupraSense”, your tasks will include:

Synthesis and characterization - you will be responsible for the synthesis and characterization of fluorescent dyes and complementary materials. These form the basis for the development of our novel chemosensors.

Screening and assay development - You will perform the screening of these chemosensors and apply and further develop our automated microplate-based assays for the detection of health-related biomarkers.

Collaborative research - In collaboration with team members and co-operation partners, you will work on the computer-assisted design of improved chemosensor candidates and perform experimental tests to verify the predictions.

Scientific communication - You will contribute to the patenting and publication of research results in renowned scientific journals and present your work at international conferences.

This position offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic and future-orientated environment and contribute significantly to the development of ground-breaking technologies.

Personal qualification

Academic excellence - you have a Master's degree and have successfully completed a PhD in an area of synthetic organic chemistry, for example in the field of dye, macrocycle or peptide synthesis. Your skills also include sound knowledge in the characterization of substances and materials.

Research expertise - your scientific aptitude is proven through several publications or patents in relevant fields.

Specialisation in chemosensors - You have a strong interest in the research and development of chemosensors for the detection of small molecule biomarkers.

Ability to work in a team - Working in an interdisciplinary and international environment motivates you and you are eager to achieve outstanding results together with your team within the ERC project “SupraSense”Liebe.
