Research associate / PhD candidate / Postdoc (f/m/d)

Job description

Your tasks essentially include:

  • Sample analysis by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, atom probe tomography and X-ray diffractometry
  • Analysis and evaluation of the data as well as interpretation in a scientific context, utilization of the data through publication in scientific journals and as research datasets
  • Sample preparation for the analysis methods planned in the project (scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and atom probe tomography)
  • Documentation of the experiments with electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Coordination of your tasks with the cooperation partners and technical staff

There is the possibility of completing a doctorate alongside your job if you do not have a doctorate.
 

Personal qualification

You have

  • a Master degree in materials science, physics or mechanical engineering
  • Good knowledge of materials science and materials engineering, especially in the field of metallic and ceramic materials.
  • Experience with high-resolution material characterization methods or spectroscopic methods
  • Experience in the field of atom probe tomography is desirable
  • Very good English skills
  • Ability to work in a team

Postdocs with proven expertise in the fields of atom probe tomography or transmission electron microscopy might also be considered.

Salary

Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
