Vacancy No. 420/2024
Doctoral candidate, research assistant (f/m/d)
Specialization in chemistry, physics, electrical engineering or materials science
Highly efficient solar cells can make an important contribution to solving the energy problem and addressing climate change. Perovskite-based solar cells are very promising, but still have significant durability problems. This project is about developing new methods based on nuclear magnetic reso-nance spectroscopy (NMR) to characterize chemical decay processes in solar cells. This will make it possible to develop targeted strategies to counteract the premature decay of the photoactive layers. Recent advances in the miniaturization of nuclear resonance detectors make it possible to analyze thin layers and other small samples with high sensitivity.
Job description
Your task is to develop novel NMR detec-tors with which photovoltaic perovskite layers can be measured directly during operation and to eval-uate the resulting NMR data. In addition, you will supervise master's and semester theses and publish your results in international journals and at conferences.
This activity offers the opportunity for a part-time doctorate.
Personal qualification
You have a master 's degree in chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, materials science or a related discipline. Knowledge and experience in the field of magnetic resonance, in the design and manufacture of scientific apparatus as well as in dealing with micro-technologies, especially with microfluidic systems, are an advantage.
