PostDoc or Research Assistant in the field of Chemical Engineering (f/m/d)

This project is part of the ambitious GreenSWaP EU project, which aims to revolutionize in-space mobility by producing sustainable propellants using solar energy.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative PostDoc candidate with a passion for mathematics and experiments to join our cutting-edge research project on the plasma-based synthesis of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) for green propulsion systems in space.

Your Tasks will comprise:

  • Design and development of the Pervaporation Device for H2O2 separation
  • Develop and test prototypes, optimizing the design based on experimental results and CFD simulations
  • Optimization of membrane performance including research and selection of suitable membrane materials
  • Integration with H2O2 production modules: Ensure effective coupling and compatibility between the H2O2 production units
  • Summary and presentations of the scientific results in reports and presentations within the project and at the institute
  • Processing the scientific results for publications and presentations at conferences
Personal qualification
  • You should hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Plasma Physics, Physical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • We are looking for a candidate who has experience in reactor design, membrane-based separation processes and computational modeling
  • Proven ability to develop creative solutions to complex research problems
  • Demonstrated curiosity and a drive to push the boundaries of current scientific knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment coupled with a passion for research.

Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
