Chemical laboratory assistant for preparation, testing and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts
Job description
The Chair in Chemical Technology and Catalysis focuses on the design, testing and in-depth characterization of heterogeneous catalysts. Our research topics range from exhaust gas aftertreatment and fine chemical synthesis, to renewable energy applications including biomass conversion. The group operates in close collaboration with other leading figures in both science and industry, offering a complete approach spanning from fundamental studies to industrial applications.
The Laboratory Assistant work will be part of different research projects focusing on the development, testing and characterization of various heterogeneous catalysts. The position also includes small administrative tasks.
You will work in a multidisciplinary environment involving the following responsibilities:
- Laboratory catalyst preparation and handling of a robot controlled unit for catalyst synthesis
- Conducting material characterization experiments on dedicated setups, i.e. thermal analysis, temperature programmed reduction/oxidation tests, N2-physisorption measurements
- Support for small administrative tasks, ordering chemicals and organizing the chemicals database
Personal qualification
- You hold a very good laboratory assistant degree in chemistry or related fields.
- Besides the professional qualification, strong commitment, independent and self-responsible working are expected.
- Good English language skills and very good German language skills are required.

Salary category 6 TV-L, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
