Job description
The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology invites applications for a full professor position at the Institute of Stochastics. We are looking for an internationally renowned expert in the area of probability theory and stochastic processes, who will contribute to innovative fundamental research in stochastic models, the research focus of the Institute of Stochastics. We expect the candidate to have connections to the research areas of the institute and to be open to interdisciplinary research opportunities in mathematics and applications. The institute enjoys an application-oriented environment, complemented by the KIT center MathSEE (Mathematics in Sciences, Engineering, and Economics). The successful applicant should actively seek third-party funding and play a leading role in collaborative research.
The position involves teaching the broad range of courses in probability theory and statistics at the Institute of Stochastics as well as service teaching for other departments. The successful candidate carries the responsibility for the course “Höhere Mathematik für die Fachrichtung Wirtschaftswissenschaften” and should be able to teach it in German within the first three years of employment.
The appointed professor will participate in the academic selfgovernance of the Department of Mathematics and the Institute of Stochastics.

Employment is subject to Art. 14, par. (2) of the KIT Act in conjunction with Art. 47 LHG Baden-Württemberg (act. of Baden-Württemberg on Universities and Colleges).
