Research Associate (f/m/d) economic risk research in the area of IT security with a focus on industrial production systems

Job description

You will conduct research at the KASTEL Security Research Labs, an interdisciplinary research network on cyber security. Your field of application includes economic risk research in the area of IT security with a focus on industrial production systems. Research topics include attack analysis, cyber threat intelligence (CTI), process value analysis, damage assessment, and investment planning for IT security. Furthermore, you will support the coordination of all sub-projects and the communication with project partners. Supervision of students as well as support of teaching activities are also part of your duties.

In addition to the scientific activity, there is the possibility of a PhD.

Personal qualification

The prerequisite for the employment is a university degree (Master or Diploma) preferably in the field of business informatics. However, graduates from the field of economics, industrial engineering, (business) mathematics or a comparable course of study are also considered. First experiences with data analysis, simulations, decision theory and game theory are highly desirable, but at least the willingness to quickly acquire these skills. Furthermore, basic knowledge of scenario development and cost estimation is an advantage. The willingness to publish research results in relevant, international journals is a prerequisite. In addition to professional aptitude, we expect commitment, a willingness to travel abroad, and very good German and English language skills.
