Postdoc (f/m/d) specializing in chemical engineering
Job description
You will join our team of the research group “Materials for Spectral Conversion” working on solar-driven degradation of micropollutants in water by novel photocatalytic polymer membranes with an active porphyrin surface layer. Your tasks include:
- Coating commercially available micro- and ultrafiltration membranes with porphyrins and phthalocyanines and characterizing their photocatalytic activity with respect to the degradation of trace hormones.
- Characterization of new photocatalytic membranes with methods of optical spectroscopy, XRD, TGA, Raman/FTIR, electron microscopy, etc.
- Determination of the photodegradation mechanisms of the adsorbed porphyrins and phthalocyanines.
- Publication of research results in scientific journals and at conferences.
Personal qualification
- University degree (Master) and completed doctorate (PhD) in chemical engineering.
- Experience in the synthesis of photocatalytic materials (organic or inorganic), material characterization and optical spectroscopy.
- Experience in publishing research results in high impact journals and writing concise reports.
- Knowledge in the preparation of applications for research funding is an advantage.
