Computer scientist (f/m/d)

Job description
As part of your job, you will be responsible for the application and further development of a workflow environment and its integration into the MaterialDigital (PMD) innovation platform for the realisation of multiscale simulation processes. This includes the provision of a web interface for the SimStack workflow environment, as well as its connection to decentralised data sources, computing capacities and ontologies. Furthermore, you will be involved in the administration and further development of the PMD infrastructure for the systematic digitalisation of materials science. Depending on your personal strengths, the focus of your work will be in the areas of workflows, ontologies or IT architecture and infrastructure.
Personal qualification
You have a university degree (Diplom (Uni) / Master) in computer science with a focus on research software engineering, data science or data engineering. In addition, you have professional experience in the development and application of simulation processes and workflow environments and ideally have the following knowledge or experience:
- Good knowledge of software/workflow engineering
- Experience with object-orientated programming (Python, C++)
- Experience with the creation of websites/interfaces (e.g. using Flask), container solutions (Docker, Singularity), (graph) databases (PostGres, NoSQL, Blazegraph)
- Experience in working with HPC systems
- Good knowledge of German and English
