Job description
The Department of Systemic Cellular Neurobiology at KIT is a international team developing brain organoids to understand basic principles underlying human brain development as well as modeling diverse neurological disorders with the goal to develop therapies.
Your responsibilities will include the following key tasks:
- Organizing administrative processes within the department (especially ordering lab materials and the associated administrative tasks)
- Organizing laboratory operations, particularly coordinating and performing maintenance, ensuring and implementing safety-related measures, and organizing waste disposal
- Performing laboratory work, especially handling routine tasks such as mammalian cell culture, sample preparation, training new users on specific equipment and lab procedures, as well as documenting and analyzing experimental data
Personal qualification
- You have completed training as a Technical Assistant (f/m/d) (ideally in the life sciences, e.g., BTA or MTA), or hold a university degree in the life sciences
- Initial professional experience at a university, higher education institution, or a comparable research organization is desirable
- Experience and confident use of MS Office programs is expected, as well as the willingness to support the administration of international projects
- Strong organizational and communication skills, team spirit, and excellent written and verbal communication in both English and German are required
- You work in a structured manner, grasp new concepts quickly, and are open to innovation
- A reliable and self-directed working style completes your profile
