The Institute for Micro Process Engineering (IMVT), headed by Roland Dittmeyer, is one of the world’s leading academic research institutions in the field of micro process engineering. An international team of 70 staff members from various disciplines is dedicated to advancing novel microstructures in modern process engineering and to evaluating process chains for the production of carbon-neutral fuels and chemicals through power-to-fuel technologies.
Your Tasks
You are responsible for:
- establishing and maintaining a system for the archiving and publication of large volumes of experimental and simulation data at IMVT (research data management, big data)
- designing, implementing, and maintaining an electronic document management system for the digitalization of the institute’s entire administration in coordination with the relevant departments at KIT
- carrying out the duties of the institute’s data protection officer
- procuring and installing computer hardware and software
Your Profile
You have:
- a completed university degree (Master’s degree/university diploma) in computer science or a related field
- very good knowledge of data formats and databases/repositories for the storage and publication of scientific research data, preferably including experience with research data management systems
- knowledge of and experience with methods of machine learning and artificial intelligence in the context of scientific research data management
- very good knowledge of document management systems
- very good knowledge of the operation of computer networks, server systems, and secure email communication
- good communication skills in both German and English
- strong organizational skills
