Development of Synergetic Measurement and Analysis Methods in Human-Tool Interaction

Job description

Contribute to the development and optimization of measurement and analysis methods for application recognition in the use of handheld tools. You will work on the implementation and evaluation of synergetic approaches that combine both product-integrated sensor technology and camera-based measurement technology. Your tasks will include the setup and adaptation of integrated measurement technology, experimental data collection and evaluation, and the development and validation of activity recognition models. You will apply innovative methods to improve the motion and activity recognition of handheld tools and compare the performance of different measurement technologies. This will include investigating the real-time capability of these systems.

You will present your research findings at national and international conferences and network with leading experts to share your findings with a global research community. The final goal of your scientific activities in our team is your doctorate.

Personal qualification
  • You have an excellent university degree (Master) in an engineering course.
  • You are fluent in English and German, both written and spoken, and are a team player who works independently, systematically and with commitment.
  • In addition, you have a good ability to think abstractly, a high willingness to learn beyond the limits of your technical training, and a methodical approach.
  • Previous knowledge in the areas of measurement technology & machine learning is desirable, but not essential.
Salary

Salary category 13 TV-L, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
