Vacancy No. 1036/2025
Doctoral Researcher (f/m/d) part time 75%
Project B7 “Dynamics of electrical depolarization waves in the heart”
Job description
The CRC has been funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) since 2015. Its goal is to analytically understand, numerically simulate, and eventually manipulate wave propagation under realistic scenarios by intertwining analysis and numerics.
Project B7 “Dynamics of electrical depolarization waves in the heart” aims at modeling, characterizing, and numerically approximating depolarization wave patterns in the human heart. A major challenge is the deformation of the heart muscle within every heart beat and thus the reliable and efficient numerical approximation of the depolarization wave coupled with the heart contraction.
We seek an ambitious doctoral researcher with a strong interest in modelling and simulation of heart function. Your work will focus on the parallel numerical approximation extending our model realized in the parallel finite element system M++ and continue our interdisciplinary research at the interface between biomedical engineering and mathematics.
