Research assistant (f/m/d)

Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science

Job description

You will perform research on inkjet-printed functional materials for optoelectronic components and sensors. The focus lies on physical and chemical sensors as well as sustainable electronics, including the development of ink formulations, printing processes, design, and characterization of novel components. Additionally, you will apply machine learning in printing processes and sensor applications. You will also support the coordination of laboratory infrastructure at the IAI and collaborate on other research projects. Publishing results and contributing to teaching are also part of your responsibilities.

There is also the possibility of pursuing a PhD degree in addition to your scientific work.

Personal qualification
  • Completed university degree (Master's) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science
  • Expertise in the production of (opto-)electronic components or sensors, as well as solvent-processed flexible and stretchable electronics
  • Good knowledge of physical and chemical sensors, optoelectronics, and semiconductor physics
  • Initial experience in 3D printing and in publishing in scientific journals is desirable
  • Project management skills and ability to work in a team
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
  • German skills are an advantage
Salary

Salary category 13, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
